NEW Flow Page for Assessors

This article has been created to reflect the enhancements that will be available after Friday 26 July as part of the July Release 2024.

A newly created flow page for assessors has been designed to simplify the marking journey with a single flow page overview. A visualisation of the timeframe for marking including any deviations (such as individual participation/marking deadlines) will make it easier to plan your marking work and help identify participants that need to be marked at certain points in the marking process.

Please note that the new flow page for assessors is ONLY available when the new marker journey has been enabled on a flow.

As an allocated assessor you can opt in/out of the new flow page without any consequences to your marking data (you can switch back and forth as you like without losing work).

Enable new flow page.jpg

Enable new flow page pop-up.jpg

Click Enable new flow page to make the switch.

Whilst the new flow page is enabled, each time you access the flow, the new flow page will be displayed unless you decide to revert back. Enabling the new flow page only affects the flow that you have accessed. It will need to be enabled on each flow separately if you wish to do so.

Flow Page Overview

The new flow page for assessors combines both the original version as well as the marking overview page. This creates an effective flow dashboard and streamlines the process for accessing flow information, marking material, participant data and the grading process on the same page.

The uppermost section of the flow page gives the opportunity to revert back to the existing flow page. Even if marking data has been entered using the new flow page, this will be retained and will not be lost by reverting back.

Flow Information and Marking Period

The middle section of the dashboard displays information on the flow as well as the marking period.

  1. Flow title and subtitle
  2. Flow ID
  3. Flow information

The flow information displays the manager(s) of the flow, any allocated co-assessors (where the email address of co-assessors can be copied from here), the participation and marking marking periods, the defined grading scale, any assignment and/or appendix files, and a flow description (if provided).
  4. Marking material: (both files and links) are displayed (if provided). The pop-up window is populated from Additional material for assessors and reviewers (Marking and Review) and from Supporting material for all (To be handed out). If no material or links are provided, the button is not visible.

  5. Offline marking: you can find out more about offline marking in the new marking tool here.
  6. Flow marking period: the start and end dates and times are displayed as a timeline
  7. Early access for assessors: if this setting is enabled on a flow then this deviation from the main marking period is shown as a warning symbol. Clicking on the warning symbols displays the following pop-up information:

  8. Later participation deadlines: This warning appears should any participant be granted a later participation deadline. Clicking on the warning symbol filters the table of participants to those who have been granted a later participation deadline and will automatically toggle on the Individual participation period deadline column to display the applied dates.  This column can also be enabled in the data table as a preference (see below). Please note that if there are no participants with individual participation deadlines, the corresponding column will not appear in the Toggle columns list. Click the warning symbol again to remove the filter.
  9. Earlier marking deadlines: Clicking on the warning symbol filters the table of participants to those who have an earlier marking deadline than the general marking period end date and will automatically toggle on the Individual marking period deadline column to display the applied dates. This column can also be enabled in the data table as a preference (see below). Please note that if there are no participants with individual participation deadlines, the corresponding column will not appear in the Toggle columns list. Click the warning symbol again to remove the filter.
  10. Later marking deadlines: Clicking on the warning symbol filters the table of participants to those who for whom you have been granted a later marking deadline than the general marking period end date. To see the actual marking deadline for relevant participants, ensure you toggle on the Individual marking period deadline column (see below). Please note that if there are no participants with individual marking deadlines, the corresponding column will not appear in the Toggle columns list. Clicking the warning symbol again removes the filter.
  11. Start marking/resume marking: button displays start marking/ or resume marking if you have already started marking. When resuming marking, you will be taken to the participant and document you were last viewing or in the case of marking on a FLOWmulti, the latest participant and item.
