During an exam, it is possible for invigilators to send direct messages to the participants, which can include important information, like time reminders, changes made to the schedule or exam. It allows invigilators to inform participants within WISEflow.
Invigilators will see a button just over the Flow monitor labelled Direct messages, which will send you straight to the direct messaging overview. From here you can create messages which will show up on participants who are currently in either a FLOWMulti assignment, Lockdown browser or on the flow page. When participants receive a message, it will be shown as a popped up window in the foreground with the message written in it.
If they are not currently on the flow, the message will be displayed as the first thing when they open up the flowpage as a participant.
The participants will also have access to all messages sent in the past on the flow page and in the lockdown browser. They will be able to reread messages, in case the messages contain important information regarding changes to the exam or the assignments.
Direct messaging overview
When opening the Direct Messaging page, a few different options will be available to you:
- Creating a new direct message in a message editor.
- viewing the details of past messages. Click on a message to get shown
- Seeing the percentage of participants on the flow, who have seen the message.
When clicking on a message that has been sent to the participants, it will open up a new window with details of which participants have seen this message. All participants who are marked as if they have not seen it will see the message as the first thing when they open up the flow again.
Creating a direct message
With the "New direct message" button, it will be possible to create a new direct message for the participants. Clicking it will open up a new window where it is possible to write a message for the participants.
In this window, you have a few options to set up a message for the students with a few different formatting options. Pressing send will immediately send the message to all the participants on the flow the message is sent from.
