Workaround introduced in WISEflow 2.14.0 (Arctic White Birch)
In a FLOWlock exam the participants have the option to take a picture with the webcam and add it to their submission. The same option is not available with FLOWmulti, so we have a workaround for this.
The workaround requires both the author and manager to add features to the exam before this workaround is possible.
Note: This will allow the participant to list and perhaps preview the files on their computer, when they add files to the File upload question.
Author: Allow the upload of files in the FLOWmulti assignment
As the author of the assignment, you need to add the question type File upload. You can find this by adding a custom question and the go to the category Other.
When setting up the question you need to make sure that JPG is among the accepted files. After the assignment is done, it needs to be published and added to the flow.
Manager: Add a whitelisted website to the flow
In order for the participant to take pictures, they need access to a website that can access their webcam. We recommend Webcam Toy for this.
In the participant settings click Manage all settings:
Scroll down and find External internet resources:
Add the link:
After saving this setting, all the participants will be able to access the website and use it to take pictures with their webcam.
All you need then is the assignment the author made earlier with the File upload question type and the participants are ready to take pictures and add them to the FLOWmulti.
