The grade scaler can be used to handle various situations where points or credit generated during the marking process need to be transformed into final grades. It converts the maximum points in a matrix (Standard Rubric) or the points awarded to the answers in the items (Custom Rubric) into a final grade.
The grade scaler is not required to publish and add a rubric to a flow. However, managers can choose to enforce a pre-defined grade scaler for the assessment process or simply use it as a reference.
Click the grade scaler icon to open the converter editor.
In the editor, you have a list of the grading scales which are available on your licence. Choose a grading scale which will then be marked in blue and a proposed conversion scale for this grading scheme will be shown below.
You can edit the currently selected conversion scale by pulling the slider left or right, or by adding a point value in the box at the top of the bar.
When you are satisfied with the set up, click Save grade scaler which will save the conversion for this grading scale. Any changes to the rubric will reopen the grading scale and it will have to be saved again.
Note that some grade scales will automatically convert marks to grades linearly and it will not be possible to change the conversion interval manually.
You can add more than one grade scaler to a rubric, allowing it to adapt to any scale needed by the flow. Simply choose another scale after saving the current one.
